Business Web Site of the Week - Photo Search from Compfight

Searching for photos to liven up that presentation, report, or marketing piece? Tempted by Google Image search, but nervous about copyright lawsuits raining down like locusts from on high?

Compfight searches across photo-sharing site Flickr and brings back just those pictures that have been cleared by their owners for commercial use. Click the Creative Commons tab to "Commercial," and then keyword search to find images open to use for your business materials. It's as easy as that.

Well, almost. You'll probably have to attribute the photographer, and you might want to read more about the creative commons agreement - but that's not too much to ask to cover yourself from those locusts. I mean lawsuits.

Note: Between the time I wrote this up this morning and posted it this afternoon, Compfight completely re-did their site. It looks great, but is only working intermittently. Bear with it; I’m sure they’ll have things running smoothly in no time flat – and it’ll be worth the wait.
